![]() ![]() Keep in mind that this may screw your current focus point which probably will look bad in video. To make focus peaking work in AF-S or AF-C modes you must have the shutter half pressed or AF-ON pressed while moving the focus ring to make the focus peaking indicators appear. Or if you want to use full-time again, just do it, and zebras will appear.Ĭ) If you shoot in AF-S or AF-C the zebras will be on. Once you nailed focus, if you want to see zebras again turn to AF-S for example. You will see the focus peaking in action. The AF will be disengaged and MF will engage. If you need to focus manually, just touch the focusing ring. To temporarily see the zebras just switch to AF-S (Fn2+Command dial).ī) If you shoot video in AF-F autofocus the zebras will be on. Then turn on focus peaking again.Ī) If you shoot video in manual focus you will regularly see the focus peaking highlights. Then setup zebras the way you like them (turned ON). To be more precise, you CAN set up both zebras (g6) and focus peaking (d10) to be ON during video, but with caveats (not simultaneous but almost.)įirst turn off focus peaking. But it appears this is not an option currently. I sure wish I could get focus peaking and zebra stripes in still photography mode. You can't do focus peaking and zebra stripes simultaneously. It appears that zebra stripes are only an option in video, not in still, and you must turn off focus peaking to to make zebra stripes work. The reference manual does not state what parameters are necessary to allow the zebra pattern. However on my menu (g6) it is grayed out with the explanation that it is unavailable with the current settings or "in the camera's current state." ![]() I really like the video capabilities of my Z7 and I noticed that a zebra overexposure display is available. ![]()
